FEEDBACK
GIVE FEEDBACK AND RISE UP IN THE LEADERBOARD
Asking students to give feedback directly to classmates’ paragraphs in English as a Foreign Language class can be an awkward and even embarrassing experience. Students are often anxious or need time to think about what to say in their own space. The feedback, developed with a process-oriented approach based on communicative language and collaborative learning theories, can encourage students to give and receive feedback in their own space and with the needed time. Students can also earn various badges and be recognized on the feedback leaderboard. The iterative revision and editing resulting from feedback from peers and teachers can push the class to grow and help a class of individual students see themselves as a community of writers.
